EU’s new VAT rules have been effective on 1 July 2021. According to the new rules, the IOSS Num is required for packages ship to EU Countries. Sellers need to provide their IOSS numbers so that products can be delivered to customers successfully.
The new VAT rules affect sellers and marketplaces both inside and outside the EU, customs, and tax payment. The charge of VAT is changed on online sales:
- VAT is charged on all products that enter the EU.
- Online sellers can register ‘One Stop Shop’ to take care of all of their VAT payments for their sales across the EU.
- Non – EU sellers can register Import One-Stop Shop for VAT in the EU.
What is Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS)?
IOSS allows sellers who are selling products to EU buyers to collect, declare and pay the VAT.
If the seller does not register the IOSS, the buyer has to pay the VAT and a customs clearance fee. And the product may fail to deliver. Because all packages that ship to the EU need IOSS numbers or VAT numbers.
How to register IOSS?
Sellers can register businesses on the IOSS portal of any EU Member State from 1 April 2021. If your business does not base in the EU, you need to appoint an intermediary to pay the VAT under IOSS. For more details of IOSS, please click here.
1. How to submit your IOSS Num on FillSell?
Go to Settings> IOSS Num, then fill in your IOSS Num in the blank.
Please make sure that you’ve filled in the correct number. Otherwise, the package cannot be delivered to your customer, and you are responsible for the loss.
2. What if you don’t have an IOSS Num?
FillSell can help. FillSell charges 2.50 USD per order and the fee will be used to pay your tax and deal with customs clearance. FillSell will stop charging it after you provide the IOSS Num.
We recommend you complete the registration of IOSS as soon as possible.
